You’ve joined the CityCheers family — awesome move. This playbook is your step-by-step guide to making CityCheers a huge success in your venue. Follow these steps, and you’ll see more repeat customers, faster table turns, bigger tips, and a serious boost in monthly revenue. Let’s get started.

Pick Your Champion

Every great team needs a motivator. Your Champion is the staff member who will lead the charge, inspire your team, and show why CityCheers is the smartest way for guests to pay.

Incentive Program: Champions earn $0.25 per transaction for 3 months.

Choose someone who’s energetic, respected by staff, and excited about CityCheers.

You can have more than one Champion (for example, a day shift manager and a night shift manager). In this case, the incentive is shared between them.

Pro Tip: Your Champion sets the tone — if they’re excited, the rest of your staff will be too.

Staff Training

The more comfortable your staff is, the faster adoption will happen.

Have everyone download CityCheers and create a profile.

Run a test transaction through your POS.

Direct your team to Restaurant Resources for extra videos, tutorials, and tips.

Pro Tip: Staff confidence = Customer confidence. The smoother the training, the quicker patrons will catch on.

Collateral Ready?

Make sure your marketing materials are visible and accessible.

Posters/signs up on walls and in restrooms.

Staff has cards or flyers ready to hand out.

Make sure to utilize your media kit with a Custom QR code — add it to menus, receipts, and current promotions.

The more touchpoints your patrons see, the more likely they are to download and use the app.

Marketing & Patron Onboarding

Now it’s time to tell the world you’re live on CityCheers. Getting customers to Favorite your venue is the key — it unlocks free push notifications and emails directly to your patrons.

Here are easy ways to spread the word:

Social Media: You’ve already received initial posts in your media kit — start there and keep sharing updates.

Email Campaigns: Send a quick “We’re on CityCheers!” note to your customer list.

Website: We’ll create an ExpressCheck tab for your site, so your customers can learn how it works right away.

Marketing works best when it feels consistent — repeat the message across your socials, emails, and in-house signage.

Connect Portal

Your Connect Portal is your command center for keeping your app fresh and engaging.

Access it anytime on your mobile device or computer.

Use it to update your app, send Dining & Entertainment Alerts, and keep your customers engaged.

Share your credentials with your Champions so they can update your Chalkboard, specials, and events.
